Clamp on Beam Load Transducer

Clamp on Beam Load TransducerWeatherford’s beam sensor is the culmination of years of research and testing to create a highly accurate device that can be easily installed by one person. This unit cannot be damaged by pumping unit problems that normally render common rod pump control (RPC) load cells (i.e. pump sticking, floating, or sanding problems, etc.) useless.

In addition, Weatherford's beam sensor can directly replace RPC load cells, using the same cable assembly. A version is also available that provides both load and position in one compact “easy to install” unit (see ordering information). Internal electronics provide compensation for ambient temperature variations. Lightning protection is a standard feature of this beam sensor. Special aerospace finish and environmental seals make the unit well suited for long-term use in typically harsh oil field environments.

Highlights

  • Easy to install
  • Highly detailed cards
  • Load and position from one device
  • Works with any model RPC
  • Environmentally sealed
  • Low maintenance
  • Out of the way of workover crews

Features

  • Simple installation, with only an allen wrench
    • No required welding
    • No “hot work” permits required
    • FM approved for Class I, II, and III, Division 1 and 2, Groups C through G
  • Virtually impervious to variations in temperature
  • Replaces RPC load cell (using the same cable)
  • Load and position inclinometer available, with only one cable
  • On most wells, higher sensitivity than RPC load cell (0- to 3-mV/V) – gives a more detailed card of well condition
  • Excellent choice for sticking, floating, or troublesome wells
  • Compatible with all Weatherford RPC systems
